We are Bente and Claus, an active and mature couple who live in Odense. We bought Sommerlyst in 2017 and have since put our hearts and souls into renovating it into a wonderful sanctuary for us, our three daughters and their families. We enjoy spending time in the house with barbecues, swimming and playing croquet in the garden.
We love the way our shoulders are lowered and calmness sets in as we cross the beautiful dam to Helnæs. The nature around Helnæs is wonderful and we like to enjoy the active life of kayaking and mountain biking when we're here. We like to start by taking a walk down to the water with a nice glass in hand and just sit on a bench and watch the ferries that always sail between Bøjden and Fynshav. In between, we have dinner at Helnæs Kro and visit Gl. Brydegaard, which, in addition to having a lovely restaurant, also often has a nice little stall with the most delicious Funen brunsviger for the walk on the hillside. Our little cotton dog Malou loves the wide open spaces as much as we do.

The vacation home is lovingly furnished and has everything your heart desires. Our children were very happy about the sandpit. The sea is very close and has a shallow sandy beach where even the little ones could swim well. The opportunity to use the stand-up paddle and the kayaks was great.
