Light in the dunes near Denmark's coast

We’re Lena and Jacob, and we’ve owned our little summer house in Grærup since 2021. We use the house a lot ourselves and are incredibly fond of both it and the area.

For us, Grærup's something truly special. Here, we find peace and enjoy nature, the unique light, the beautiful sunsets, and the vast natural areas with wonderful trails for walking and cycling. The beach and the North Sea are right nearby, and the area’s large population of red deer often offers opportunities for truly special nature experiences.

When we feel like shopping or having a nice dinner, we usually drive to Henne or Blåvand, about 20 minutes from here. In the summer, we enjoy cycling or walking the roughly 4 km to Vejers for lunch, an ice cream, or to run some errands.

We’re really happy with our holiday home and love to keep refreshing it with little touches to keep it neat and cosy. Cosiness is our top priority, and we hope our guests can sense our love for this place, feel at home, and take good care of it.

In summer we set up the hammocks, and on our little viewing platform overlooking the dunes you can enjoy a cup of coffee, a glass of wine, or simply the silence and the view. We use the heated outdoor shower right outside the bathroom ourselves all year round—a warm shower under the open sky is something truly special.

From May through October, we keep the wood-burning stove turned off, as it doesn’t provide much heat. On cool days, the heat pump heats the house nicely, and all the rooms also have new radiators.
