Architecture and nature in beautiful Helgenæs

Located on Helgenæs is a beautiful, unique vacation home from 1973, designed by the architects Friis and Moltke. The interior design is aesthetically pleasing and stylish, with a deep respect for the original architecture. The many patio doors and large windows bring nature right up close, allowing the indoors and outdoors to blend together naturally. On this secluded property in nature-rich surroundings, there are ample opportunities to find peace for both the eyes and the soul.

Here, there’s plenty of space for family time and togetherness. Bake bread on a stick over the fire at the campfire site, take a lantern on a beachcombing adventure, or take a trip to Sletterhage Lighthouse, where you can enjoy ice cream on warm days. When the cold sets in, the wood-burning stove awaits, along with plenty of cozy sofa space, puzzles, and building blocks indoors—and, of course, firewood is ready for you.

Out on the property, you’ll find a cozy annex with two sleeping spots. The small room with the large window is perfect for quiet time—here you can read a good book or simply take a well-deserved break and admire the green surroundings. At the top of the property lies a peaceful and private lookout spot with a bench and the most expansive view of Aarhus Bay. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine and a nice chat as the day draws to a close.

By the summer of 2026, a beautiful new wooden deck had been built, designed to complement the house’s original architecture. It’s worth noting that the deck has no railing and that the natural grounds are very hilly. For this reason, the house is not recommended for guests with mobility issues, which is something to keep in mind before booking your stay.
