Architect-designed home with a maritime look

This architect-designed house from 2020 most closely resembles a houseboat. It stands on point foundations and is raised slightly above the ground, which gives it its distinctive look. The interior design's deliberately minimalist—with no TV or dishwasher—and the maritime aesthetic's part of the experience from the very first moment.

The house is organised around three cabins and a larger common area. The common area brings everyone together. The style's consistent and simple, and the decision to forgo entertainment electronics is a conscious choice that prioritises tranquillity and togetherness over noise.

The garden and terrace are the heart of the house. Here, there's plenty of space to sit down and take a breath. The beach, with its famous concrete ship, is a three-minute walk down a private road, so you can reach the water quickly and safely.

The area features an old fishing village undergoing rapid development, with great food, a water science centre, and the chance to catch crabs at the harbour. A ten-minute walk takes you to Tir Bakery, founded by a former Noma chef. A fifteen-minute walk leads to the ferry terminal, from where the Kombardo departs for Aarhus.
