"We're a family with three teenagers who live in Oslo. When we were looking to buy a cabin, it was the family's great interest in skiing that was the deciding factor. It was therefore natural that the choice fell on Hemsedal - which has some of the country's best skiing opportunities in winter. But even though winter is our favorite season, we quickly realized how fantastic it is to be at the cabin in all the other seasons as well.
Our cabin means a lot to us, because it's where we really take the time to be together and do things together. The fact that the cabin is so close to the ski center means that we can enjoy an extra cup of coffee while the kids go ahead, and in the evening we often enjoy an evening walk on the light trail. The cabin invites you to socialize, but you also have plenty of opportunities to retreat and relax on your own.
The location is something we really appreciate, because although the cabin is located in a lovely and quiet area, it is also close to restaurants, ski resorts, light trails and Hemsedal town center. The ski center is a place we use a lot in the winter, but in the spring there are fantastic opportunities to go summit hiking on randoné skis. In summer and fall, we do a lot of hiking in the mountains or try our luck fishing in the rivers. Our kids enjoy renting electric bikes or taking the elevator up and riding the many trails.
