The Wadden Sea is only 3 km away. You can reach the dike in 15 minutes by bike. From there, you can explore the flat marsh landscape, take the ferry to Föhr and Amrum, take the train to Sylt, or reach the Danish island of Rømø in 45 minutes. Excursions to the Halligen islands, Husum, or St. Peter-Ording are also worthwhile.
