At what feels like the end of the world, embraced by 150 years of history, you'll find this beautiful log cabin with deep roots back in history, where the focus was on simple homesteading. Here you can enjoy your time together in a unique setting and experience the tranquillity that distance from both everyday and modern life can provide.
When you enter the cabin, you'll be greeted by a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The raw timber walls combined with beautiful natural materials, unique color schemes and grass on the roof characterize the interior and make the cabin a unique gem that takes you back in time. When you're not enjoying the tranquillity of the cabin, the area offers many exciting adventures for young and old alike. Take a refreshing dip, fish at sunset, go hiking or go out on the water in a canoe.
When you get home, you can cook in the traditional stone oven, take a shower outside under the birch trees to the smell of lavender, drink a cup of coffee in the sun with a good book and end the day together with a bath, each other's company and the view of the water. Here, everyone sleeps together in the loft, which makes for a particularly cozy atmosphere, and in the morning you can collect eggs from the cabin's hens to enjoy for breakfast before setting off on new adventures together.

Our names are Reidunn and Ole, and one of us would like to welcome you.
Nine years ago, we took over this farm from my grandfather. Haukali was my childhood paradise and the choice to take over was easy.
Despite the proximity to civilization (45 minutes from Stavanger), Haukali is still perceived as "the end of the world". Perhaps that's why we enjoy living here so much. We are surrounded by the most beautiful mountains, meadows and water.
We have sheep, horses and chickens on the farm.
As I got older, I became interested in my ancestors in Haukali, and both housing and living conditions made me curious and want to create/build a homestead on the farm. With support from Innovation Norway, we had the opportunity to build this beautiful building, which was a common dwelling in the 1850s for the poor in Norway.
I was both amazed and curious about the poor and industrious lifestyle and living conditions that characterized life just 150 years ago.
If we wish, we can tell you about the poor and simple conditions, the long working day and the struggle to survive.
The story of Husmannshuset sheds light on poor life in Norway in the 1850s in the fjords.
Without this knowledge, we think we're going "poor into the future".
In the outdoor space around Haukeli333, (without the car), we can offer beautiful nature experiences such as unique mountain hikes, swimming, fishing from land and water. Rent a canoe and SUP board.
Or just sit and enjoy nature and silence and "take back time".
As our guests, you also get to experience having a
- herb garden
- a small henhouse with 4 hens and where you have your own eggs
- 2 zinc tubs that you can fill with water and relax in.
- Check out more and feel free to follow us on instagram #Haukali333.
- We believe the children should be from 8 years and up with a background in the dormitory with stairs
