Summer Vacation Postcard from Lolland
On Lolland, Line, Jan, and their five kids are thoroughly enjoying their vacation at their summer house. They’re doing yoga and playing backgammon, eating ice cream every day, and there’s plenty of time for both pure relaxation and spontaneous outings.
> We pretty much live on the patio and love that there’s time and space for everything from morning yoga and water play to evening cocktails and backgammon.
> When we’re not on the patio, you can find us at the beach, where the kids are having fun and we’re all enjoying the warm, clear water and the sandy bottom beneath our feet. We love our beach, which is a bit of an undiscovered gem and is usually used only by the residents of the area’s seventeen vacation homes, so there’s plenty of space between the towels.
> The kids are sleeping in later than usual, there’s sand on the floor, the coffee corner serves iced coffee several times a day, and we try to have at least one ice cream a day—which we manage without any trouble.
> The other day we visited beautiful Nysted. There, we ate ice cream cones at the harbor and strolled through the charming alleys lined with crooked houses and hollyhocks. Nysted is always worth a visit—and we’re hoping that another summer trip there will end at our favorite Restaurant Ö. We also make frequent trips to Maribo to stock up on rhubarb croissants and delicious bread.
Summer greetings from Jan, Line, and our five little ones
