The sea buckthorn house invites to socializing, drinks on the home-built daybed and for sunbathing on the terrace. Incredible amounts of gunpowder and energy have been spent on making the guests feel good in the little house, and appreciate all the little touches that have been selected with such great care. The house's large windows in the living room and kitchen and especially the many wicker furniture help to create a nice cottage atmosphere. On the covered terrace there is sun most of the day and when it disappears from here you can move down to the terrace at the end of the house and enjoy the last rays of the sun. The bathing path leads directly down to the water, and with only 400 meters it is not far to an evening dip after a hot day on the terrace. There are many good excursion places in the area within both cycling and walking distance. It is worth passing Tversted Søernes campfire site, the nature playground or the shelters that are close to the lakes. From the cottage, it is also not far to the Gray Ice House, which is famous for its homemade guf and Bubble Waffles. The combination of the beautiful cottage, where things have been taken care of and maintained, together with the area close to the beach, water and unique, local shops, sets a wonderful setting for relaxation and togetherness.

Meet your host

Liselotte & Morten

We are a family of five who live only 6 kilometers from our cottage, Havtornhuset, in Tversted. Morten is the director of a machine shop in Hirtshals and Liselotte is the foster mother of our 9-year-old boy. We took over our lovely cottage in November 2020 and have since spent the winter putting it in order ourselves. We have chosen to decorate it in a completely different way than our everyday home. Liselotte loves to decorate and we have chosen the old romantic style for the cottage. Most of the interior has been bought at flea markets and in recycling, and then buckets of white paint have been used for furniture and not least for walls and ceilings in the house. We really spend a lot of energy finding the right things, gadgets and furniture for our beloved cottage. I love ceramics, old wine glasses and frames. So there is plenty of it in the house. We love being in the cottage and packing for walks in the area. There are many bunkers close to the cottage where you can go on guided tours in the summer. We enjoy the tranquility, but of course we also like to do small projects. Our cottage is always under development as we are creative and get new ideas all the time. In June 2021, a brand new wilderness bath has been set up with fiberglass inserts, which are super easy to use and not least enjoy a starry sky in the evening. In addition to the many creative do-it-yourself projects, we often go out and visit the local area. Here, Sørig Gl School is often on the route. Ceramist Dorte Hansen lives here, and she makes the most beautiful ceramics. You can buy the beautiful homemade cakes and enjoy them in her old garden. When we do not end up in Dorte's old garden, we go out to the Gamle Minder store, where we find retro fleas for the cottage.
