House by the rustic industrial harbour in Kåsen

Kåsen Harbor is a former industrial harbor that is still finding a new lease on life now that the fishing boats and ferry service are gone. It is precisely this authentic atmosphere that makes the place special. You can watch the sunsets over the harbor and experience the forces of nature when the westerly wind picks up and the waves crash over the piers.

The house is located right by the harbor, with all the life and activity that entails. At the harbor, you’ll find two dining spots: Kroen FAVN and the rustic Himmel & Havn, which is undergoing an exciting transformation. Cultural events are held regularly, so there’s good reason to keep an eye on what’s happening.

Across from the house, a path leads to a small stretch of beach with lounge chairs and a swimming pier for both children and adults. You can also swim right in the harbor itself—especially from the platform on the outer pier, though this isn’t suitable for small children. Along the country roads to the south and southwest, the route leads toward Kolby, and Vesborg Lighthouse lies along the coast to the south.

Samsø offers great variety. Stavns Fjord is one of the island’s most distinctive natural areas, featuring shallow waters, small islands and islets, and the rocky reef Besser Rev. To the north, you’ll find the stretch of coastline from Langør to Nordøen, with sandy beaches, dunes, and coniferous forests. In the northwestern part of the island lies Ballebjerg, Samsø’s highest point, with steep slopes and bird colonies.
