Stay at the vacation home of the future at the Utzon Center in Aalborg
Now you can enjoy a truly special experience. You’ll be staying in a vacation home—right in the heart of Aalborg and right in the middle of the exhibition at the Utzon Center.
If you’re looking for a summer house and a truly unique experience, then you should head to Aalborg.
The Utzon Center has just opened the exhibition SOMMERHUS. There, you can explore a 22-square-meter tiny house designed by BIG and Bjarke Ingels for LiveKlein.
The Utzon Center has decided to rent out this tiny summer house to guests for a limited time during the Easter and summer breaks.
“We’re doing this because it’s fun, and because we can give our visitors a truly special experience.” We always strive to ensure that our guests can have a sensory experience in our exhibitions and really feel the architecture. So here, you get the full experience when you’re actually allowed to stay in the house, climb up to the loft, and go to bed,” says Line Nørskov Eriksen, exhibition director at the Utzon Center.
– A45 is a fantastic creation. We’ve chosen to include it in the exhibition because, in many ways, it’s a vision of the summer house of the future. It’s made from sustainable materials. It’s just a few square meters in size and filled with inspiring solutions that show how to make the most of the space. And its form has almost sculptural qualities,” says Line Nørskov Eriksen.
The rental is arranged in partnership with Landfolk.com, which specializes in handpicking and giving guests access to some of Denmark’s most unique and personal summer homes.
– We’re vacation home enthusiasts with a capital “E” ourselves, and we really identify with the story about the vacation home featured at the Utzon Center. A45 is not only a beautiful vacation home, but it also speaks directly to that sense of relaxation—and how a smaller space can often provide the best setting for togetherness and simplicity. We’re very excited that A45 can be booked exclusively at Landfolk. Those who book vacation homes with us rather than through traditional agencies are often interested in architecture, so it’s fantastic to offer them this completely unique experience right in the middle of the SOMMERHUS exhibition,” says Cathrine K. Reimann, co-founder of Landfolk.
– As soon as you step into A45, you’re greeted by that familiar scent of a summer house, thanks to the beautiful floor-to-ceiling wood paneling. At the same time, you also sense a whiff of the future in this innovative take on a smaller, more sustainable summer house. “We want to support this new way of thinking about summer homes by giving people the chance to experience it for themselves. That way, they can be inspired to consider alternatives to the hyped-up, large summer homes with pools—which take up a lot of space and which we think there are already plenty of,” says Cathrine K. Reimann from Landfolk.
